ABOUT US

R amana Vidyalaya was established in 2005 by N.S. Educational Trust with the aim of providing quality education to children from varied socioeconomic backgrounds. What started off as a free after-school tuition center is now a well-established institution that provides holistic education to more than 1200 students from all family backgrounds - families from the Tsunami rehabilitation projects to returning expatriates.


We are affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) (affiliation number: 1930268) and admit students from Pre-Kindergarten to Class 12.


Along with the academic program, the school also ensures moral education and character building of the students. The infrastructure has been created to nurture the overall development of the child with experienced and committed teachers. We strive to keep our teacher-student ratio is 1:30. Our students enjoy learning in well-ventilated, comfortable, stimulating, wifi-enabled tech-classrooms; a student-friendly library; well-equipped laboratories and a spacious playground. All of this is set in an attractive natural environment wherein our students also have created horticulture beds for growing vegetables.

Mr. N. Chandrasekaran

Chairman, Board of Trustees


N. Chandrasekaran is a graduate from IIT, Madras and IIM, Ahmedabad. Following a corporate career across multiple countries and with large conglomerates like the Murugappa/TI Group, the Shriram Group, he turned an entrepreneur to build a flourishing business in the glass and building materials industry.

Drawing from his own personal experience, he is a big believer that quality education is a great leveler and helps drive socioeconomic mobility and founded Ramana Vidyalaya to deliver such high quality education. He also believes that critical thinking skills and a passion for lifelong learning are the most important things that RV’s teachers should teach.

Mrs. Lalitha Chandrasekaran

Director and Trustee


Lalitha Chandrasekaran is an educationist with over 4 decades in the field of education. A post graduate in Chemistry, she started her teaching career in Nairobi and had been associated with the D.A.V. Girls Senior Secondary School for 24 years, of which 15 years were as Principal. She has also served the CBSE in several roles including Head Examiner, Subject Matter Expert and Master Trainer.

A co-founder of RV, she took over the day-to-day management in 2011 and has driven its growth into a diverse, high quality, holistic learning environment. She is a strong believer in the unique potential of each child and that each child should be nurtured physically, emotionally and intellectually to reach their potential.

Mrs. Uma Ganesan

Principal


Uma Ganesan has more than 25 years of experience in the field of education across Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Chennai, Army Public School, Secundarabad and the DAV Girls School. She has been actively involved with CBSE as well through many roles including Examiner and Centre Superintendent.

She has been the Principal of Ramana Vidyalaya since 2016. With a masters in Botany and a big believer in experiential learning, she takes a lot of interest in guiding students in their projects. Currently, she is working with students of RV to research and publish a book detailing the plants and flowers found on RV’s grounds. She is also a big believer in value-based education.

Mr. S.T. Chari

Trustee


S T Chari is an eminent educationist who has been involved in the field of education for more than 50 years. He started his career with Cooperative Training Institute training Coop officials in Coop law and accounting.

In 1966, he joined the Central School, Poona as an Economics Teacher and since then has served as a teacher and then Principal in Central Schools and Kendriya Vidyalayas across the country including Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Orissa, West Bengal and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Over his long career, he has been involved in setting up and auditing schools and training teachers in almost every state in the country.
