Teachers’ Day is an important occasion in RV where we students honour their teachers for all their support and contribution. It is a day dedicated to thank our teachers for all their guidance and love. We didn’t want this pandemic to stop us from celebrating our teachers on this special day. Hence, we decided to take the celebration online!
Ramana Vidyalaya celebrated Teachers’ Day virtually on 5th September 2020. The show was completely coordinated by the IX graders with the support of Ms. Usharani, Ms. Bhuvaneshwari, Ms. Aiswarya and Ms. Harini.
Everything from the e-invites to the cultural presentations were organised by the students themselves, who planned the entire event in a span of 2 weeks during the acute phase of the lock down! The fact that a lot of teachers participated in the event, including senior-most former RV teachers, left the students feeling joyous!
Tribute to teachers in the form of speeches, poem recitals, art displays and sweet messages from tiny tots made the day very memorable and special for everyone. Kindergarten students expressed their love for their teachers by singing, dancing, drawing and speaking about their lovely teachers in a short video. A beautiful collage of candid photos of teachers was one of the highlights of the programme.
A very interesting quiz on varied subjects was also a part of the program. It was an engaging and thrilling experience as the tables had turned and teachers were answering questions put forth by their students. The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks.
Here’s what one of the organisers had to say:
“I loved planning for this Virtual Teachers’ Day Celebration. We had a little over a week's time, often working late into the night, meticulously planning every step. The entire team is very proud of the result, as all the teachers enjoyed the fruit of our efforts and the entire event was a grand success!”
